Area Description:

Downtown has long been the central gathering space and identifying marker for the town. As downtown revitalization efforts continue under the Ashland Main Street Association, a major player in the future of this area (and the town) will continue to be the world-class campus of Randolph-Macon College. In recent years enrollment and buildings have been on the rise.

Future Land Use:

The future land use for this area is a collection of three Mix-Use Downtown types and Randolph-Macon with a standalone type. For descriptions of these future land use classificaitons​, read the Land Use chapter.
